Replacing the Air Filter 

Supplies Recommended: 

 

Clean Cloth 

1.

 

Unscrew the Plastic Knob Bolt that secures the Filter Cover and remove the 
Cover (Figure 12). 

2.

 

Remove the Air Filter Element from the Filter Housing (Figure 13). If the 
Filter is dirty, replace with a new one. 

3.

 

Wipe out any dirt from inside the Air Filter Housing using a clean Rag. 

4.

 

Clean any debris buildup from the openings in the Air Filter Cover. 

5.

 

Align the new Air Filter with the hole opening positioned on the right side. 

6.

 

Replace the Air Filter Cover and secure with the Plastic Knob Bolt. 

Spark Plug Service 

Tools Recommended: 

 

Feeler Gauges 

 

Wire Brush 

 

Spark Plug Wrench 

Spark plug gap must be correct for efficient operation. Proceed as follows to 
service the spark plug: 

1.

 

Clean area around spark plug Boot (Figure 14). 

2.

 

Pull the Spark Plug Wire from the Spark Plug. 

3.

 

Use a Spark Plug Wrench to remove the Spark Plug. 

4.

 

Clean the electrodes with a metal brush to remove any build up. 

5.

 

Measure spark plug clearance with a feeler gauge. The clearance should be 
0.02 in. (.53 mm). If adjustment is necessary, bend the side electrode 
carefully with the Feeler Gauge tool. 

6.

 

Replace spark plug with a new one if electrodes are pitted, burned or 
porcelain is cracked. Use only a NGK CMR6A or equivalent. 

7.

 

Install Spark Plug and Wire.
