Use
Place the log safely on the workbench (2).
Always lift a log by holding the bark side,
never the ends. Make sure that your hands
and limbs never come between the log and
the log splitter!
Never attempt to split logs at an angle,
and always split logs along the grain, never
across.
All lateral branches must be cut off before
splitting, and the top and bottom of the log
must be as straight as possible. Split only one
log at a time.
Do not attempt to split completely fresh
wood. It does not chip as easily and the
wedge is more likely to get stuck in fresh
wood than in dry wood.
Any helpers must be at least 3 metres away
from the log splitter, as long as the log
pusher is moving.
Remove your hands from the log. Press the
push button (9), and operate the guide lever
(11) to split the log. The log pusher presses
the log against the wedge and splits it.
Once the log is split, release the push
button and the guide lever. The log pusher
automatically returns to the start position
and stops there.
Move the split log away from the work area
before splitting the next log.
If the log pusher cannot press the log
toward the wedge, and it does not move for
5 seconds, release the guide levers, so that
the log splitter recedes, as otherwise the oil
will overheat and cause damage to the log
splitter.
Turn the log 90 degrees and try again. If it
still fails to split the log, it is too hard for the
capacity of the log splitter. Cut it into smaller
pieces, or give up attempting to split it.
Remove your hands from the log. Press the
