NOTE:
Threads on belt tensioner roller cap screw are LEFT-HAND threads.
Checking Engine Electrical Ground Connections
Keep all engine ground connections clean and tight to prevent electrical arcing which can
damage electronic components.
Replenishing Supplemental Coolant Additives (SCAs) Between Coolant
Changes
NOTE:
If system is to be filled with coolant that does not contain SCAs, the
coolant must be precharged.
Through time and use, the concentration of coolant additives is gradually depleted during
engine operation. Periodic replenishment of inhibitors is required. The cooling system must be
recharged with additional supplemental coolant additives available in the form of liquid coolant
conditioner.
Maintaining the correct coolant conditioner concentration (SCAs) and freeze point is essential
in your cooling system to protect against rust, liner pitting and corrosion, and freeze-ups due
to incorrect coolant dilution.
DO NOT mix one brand of SCA with a different brand.
Recharge the system per instructions printed on label of the Coolant Conditioner.
IMPORTANT: Always maintain coolant at correct level and concentration. DO NOT
operate engine without coolant even for a few minutes.
If frequent coolant makeup is required, the glycol concentration should be checked to
ensure that the desired freeze point is maintained. Follow manufacturer's instructions
provided with Coolant/Battery Tester.
Add the manufacturer's recommended concentration of supplemental coolant additive. DO
NOT add more than the recommended amount.
The use of non-recommended supplemental coolant additives may result in additive drop-out
and gelation of the coolant.
If other coolants are used, consult the coolant supplier and follow the manufacturer's
recommendation for use of supplemental coolant additives.
