Dupline 8-way Relay Output DSM 8 

7. General Information

The DSM 8 is a component of the Dupline installation system. It permits the switching of
eight loads, which may be operated on different phases with up to 16 A. However, the
total load may not exceed 80 A
The switching status of each output is indicated by a LED on the front of the device.
The green LED located in the frontal modular socket indicates that the Dupline bus signal
is functioning properly.
The DSM 8 permits the switching status (ON/OFF) adopted by the outputs in the event
of a bus fault to be preconfigured with the aid of the DHK 1.

8. Coding

With the hand encoder DHK 1 each channel can be assigned any address between A1
and P8 using the modular plug at the front of the DSM 8. The channel allocation is as
follows:

Functions which are not required should remain uncoded. Coding the DSM 8 can be car-
ried out without supply voltage or Dupline signal. Although it is permanently retained, it
may always be overwritten.
The outputs are configured at the works so that they are switched on if a bus failure oc-
curs. This configuration can also be changed with the DHK 1. If the value "0" is configu-
red, all outputs are switched off in the event of a bus failure; if "1" is set, they are switched
on.

9. Putting into Service

Only an authorized expert is allowed to carry out the installation. When installing, the
connection diagram has to be observed. All conductors that shall be connected have to
be free of voltage. Following table shows the connections:
