When solar charge cannot be performed sufficiently
Efficiency of the solar charge varies a lot depending on conditions such as
the ambient temperature, illuminance, etc.
Note that the battery may not be charged with solar energy sufficiently in
the following cases.
When ambient temperature is high
When charging for long periods of time in the place where the FOMA
terminal becomes cold such as high mountains or in the snow
When the solar panel part is not exposed to the sun by dangling the
FOMA terminal around your neck with the strap, etc.
When charging through the windows which block direct sunlight such
as frosted or film windows
When the FOMA terminal is behind the curtain
When sticker, etc. is attached on the solar panel
When other functions of the FOMA terminal are used simultaneously
ɡ
When solar charge cannot be performed
Note that the battery cannot be charged with solar energy in the following
cases.
When the battery level is approximately 78% or more
When using the lighting such as a fluorescent lamp for indoors
When charging the battery with other than solar charge such as using
AC adapter
When the FOMA terminal is hot
When there is not enough illuminance such as rainy days
ɡ
Temperature increase of the FOMA terminal by solar
charge
The solar panel of the FOMA terminal is black to absorb the sunlight as
much as possible. Therefore, the FOMA terminal is subject to become hot.
Be careful not to leave the FOMA terminal in the sunlight for long periods of
time.
When the FOMA terminal becomes hot above a certain level, the solar
charge LED illuminates in orange. Hold the sides of the FOMA terminal
and move it to the cool place.

When the solar charge is performed under inclement weather conditions
such as overseas, note that the FOMA terminal may become hot in a
short time.
When the FOMA terminal is exposed to the direct sunlight for long
periods of time, the solar panel of the FOMA terminal becomes hot. Be
very careful to touch the FOMA terminal and hold the sides of the FOMA
terminal and move it to the cool place.
Solar charge stops automatically in the place the FOMA terminal
becomes hot.

Notes regarding use for solar charge
Never charge the battery with solar energy in the following ways. If doing
so, the FOMA terminal becomes hot causing malfunction or fire.
Example: Solar charge methods that are not allowed
Charging for long periods of time in the place which is subject to high
temperature such as closed cars or sealed clear boxes
Charging with the halogen light or infrared lamp which gives off high
temperature
Charging with light focus using mirror, magnifying glass, lenses, etc.
Charging in the place which is subject to high temperature such as
sand pit, rocky stretch, metal, cement and plastic (tables and air
compressor), etc.
Charging for long periods of time in the strong sunlight such as
swimming pool and beach
The following charging devices (sold separately) cannot be used in
locations subject to high temperatures. Do not use them in conjunction
with solar charge.
Desktop Holder SH25
FOMA AC Adapter 01/02
FOMA DC Adapter 01/02
FOMA USB Cable with Charge Function 02
FOMA AC Adapter 01 for Global use
FOMA Portable Charging Adapter 01
Do not cover the solar panel by putting decoration stickers, writing with
permanent marker or applying cosmetics (lipstick, foundation, sun-block
cream, etc.). The battery may not be charged.
Solar charge stops when the battery pack is removed.
