Using the GPS
The optional GPS module with active antenna provides the U-Blox chip set and TTFF (Time to
First Fix) technology which speeds the time to lock to a satellite. Along with each of these
features Data
Ltd’s patent pending RF antenna switching technology provides you with the
functionality of switching between external and internal antennas without software requirements.
Data Ltd has included in the DLI 8 a GPS software tool to verify that all functions of the GPS
module are working properly.
1. To launch the application tap on the
NavViwer
icon on the DLI 8 desktop.
Navisys NavViwerUb can also be found under C:\Program Files\DLI
2. Set the COM Port which can be found by looking in the Device Manager under Ports
(COM & LPT), then look for u-blox 7 GPS/GNSS Receiver. This is the COM port that your
GPS module is using. Set the Baud Rate to 9600. Next, tap the
Open
button.
