These instructions are provided to ensure proper installation, operation and long service life
of Bayco 5204K9 API Sight Glass Delete Kit. This kit is intended for use with Bayco 5204
API valves fitted with the combination fluid level and flow indicating sight glass. This kit
includes a plate and gasket that are designed to seal the existing sight glass holes and to
allow the API valve to operate without the sight glass.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION!
THE COMBINATION FLUID LEVEL AND FLOW INDICATING
SIGHT GLASS IS EXPOSED TO DISCHARGE (WET) LINE
PRESSURE, REMOVAL OF THE SIGHT GLASS WILL RESULT IN
SPILLAGE UNLESS THE INTERNAL VALVE IS SECURED SHUT
AND THE DISCHARGE (WET) LINE DRAINED PRIOR TO
REMOVAL.
Ensure that the discharge line is isolated and drained before attempting to remove the
combination fluid level and flow indicating sight glass.
ATTENTION! THE FLUID LEVEL AND FLOW INDICATORS ARE LOOSE PIECES AND
ARE EASILY LOST. CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN DURING REMOVAL TO
ENSURE THAT THESE PARTS ARE SECURED BEFORE REMOVING
THE SIGHT GLASS.
Undo, remove and
retain
the six fasteners, flat washers and lock washers (note that only
the four corner fasteners include flat washers, two additional flat washers are included in
your kit).
Remove the sight glass, level and flow indicators and o-ring. These may be retained for
future use, if serviceable.
Ensure that the sealing surface of the sight glass pad on the 5204API valve body is free
from debris, scratching or anything that may result in leakage.
Take the fasteners that you removed from the sight glass and the two flat washers included
in your kit and ensure that you have six screws, flat washers and lock washers, one for
each of the holes in the plate.
Match the gasket up to the plate and line the plate and gasket up to the holes on the sight
glass pad. Retain the plate and gasket with the fasteners.
