1. GENERAL
WARNING
1.1
PLEASE READ BEFORE USING THIS MANUAL
•
This manual is part of the product and should be kept near the instrument for easy
and quick reference.
•
The instrument shall not be used for purposes different from those described
hereunder. It cannot be used as a safety device.
•
Check the application limits before proceeding.
1.2
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
•
Do not expose to water or moisture: use the controller only within the operating limits
avoiding sudden temperature changes with high atmospheric humidity to prevent
formation of condensation
•
In case of failure or faulty operation send the instrument back to the distributor or to
“Dixell s.r.l.” (see address) with a detailed description of the fault.
2. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
L’iPRINT is a data collecting device designed to be used with the HACCP and iCHILL
series. It allows to collect, by means of an infrared connection, all the data related to the
alarms from the instruments (provided with IR port) and then transfer them to a printed
equipped with an IRDA communication port.
L’iPRINT is able to store the data coming from 40 different controllers with a maximum of
20 alarms for each controller.
The user interface is made of 3 keys (reception, transmission and erase memory) and 3
led to activate and display the main functions.
Power supply is granted by 2 1,5V batteries (type AAA; included) with an easy access for
the installation and substitution.
3. FRONTAL
Data reception: download the data from the controller to the iPRINT
Data transmission: transmit the data to the printer
Erase memory: by holding it pressed for 3 seconds erase all the data stored
into the iPRINT
4. USE
In order to extend batteries life, iPRINT will automatically turn off at the end of each
operation (data download, data transmission to the printer or memory erasing).
4.1 DOWNLOAD DATA FROM A CONTROLLER
1.
Enable infrared transmission on the controller you wish to download
data from (see controller’s specific manual).
2.
Turn on the iPRINT by press any of the key. A Beep from the buzzer
will confirm the operation.
3.
By holding the iPRINT in front of the controller’s IR port, push the “Data
reception” key: the Led near the key starts blinking signalling the data
reception in progress.
4.
At the end of the reception a double beep from the buzzer will indicate
the end of the operation.
It’s possible to abort the operation by pressing again the key during the data
reception. The data received meanwhile will be deleted.
4.2 TRANSMIT THE DATA TO A PRINTER
1.
Turn on the iPRINT by press any of the key. A Beep from the buzzer
will confirm the operation.
2.
By holding the iPRINT in front of the printer’s IRDA port, push the
“Data transmission” key: the Led near the key starts blinking signalling
the data transmission in progress.
3.
At the end of the reception a double beep from the buzzer will indicate
the end of the operation.
It’s possible to abort the operation by pressing again the key during the data
transmission.
4.3 ERASE DATA ARCHIVE
4.
Turn on the iPRINT by press any of the key. A Beep from the buzzer
will confirm the operation.
5.
Push for 3 seconds the “Erase memory” key.
6.
At the end of the reception a double beep from the buzzer will indicate
the end of the operation while the red led will blink 4 times
WARNING: this operation definitively erase all the data store into iPRINT
archive.
4.4 MEMORY
FULL
If, during data download operation, the memory fill up, the red led which is above “Erase
memory” key will start blinking together with data reception led. Afterwards data acquiring
is quitted. All the data got during this last operation are erased.
When iPRINT memory is exhausted, it’s necessary to print all the data and then proceed
with archive erasing before to be able to acquire new information from other controllers
5. BATTERIES INSTALLATION / SUBSTITUTION
L’iPRINT uses 2 1,5V batteries type AAA which allow an autonomy of more or less 4000
reception / transmission cycles.
By means of a screw-driver unscrew the screw on the back of the device; Then remove
the cover to gain access to batteries room.
