5.1
Emptying and cleaning the dust container
It is best to empty the dust container after each vacuuming session.
But empty the dust container at the latest:
- if the "MAX" marking (Fig. 9/B1) has been reached,
- before prolonged storage or dispatch.
1.
Switch off the appliance,

2.
Press the release catches on the housing cover (Fig. 9/A) and lift it until
it stays open by itself.
3.
Pull the dust container up and out of its holder (Fig. 9/B).
4.
Empty the dust container by holding it low over a dustbin and only then
press the release button (Fig. 9/C).

Also clean the central lamellae filter on this occasion,

6.
Remove any residual dust from the dust container using a dry cloth or
a soft brush, e.g. the supplied furniture brush.
7.
Close the dust compartment bottom plate.

Cleaning central lamellae filter and motor protection filter

Remove and empty the dust container,

3.
Remove the motor protection filter from its holder (Fig. 10/A).
4.
Remove the central lamellae filter including the filter screen (optional)
and filter fleece (optional) out of the dust container (Fig. 10/B).

Hold the filter elements low over a dustbin.
6.
Release the filter screen from the central lamellae filter by rotating the
screen (optional) out of the filter as shown (Fig. 10/C).
7.
Pull the filter fleece (optional) off the filter (Fig. 11/A).
8.
Remove larger agglomerations of dirt from the filter elements by hand.
9.
Brush the central lamellae filter clean with the dry furniture brush
supplied (Fig. 11/B).
10.
If the filter elements are still dirty after this dry-brushing procedure,
thoroughly rinse them by hand in running water (Fig. 11/C) until all dirt
is gone.
11.
If a filter element is damaged or too dirty, replace it with a new one
(ordering information

).
12.
Put the new / cleaned and completely dry motor protection filter back
into its receptacle (Fig. 10/A).
13.
Slide the filter fleece (optional) back over the central lamellae filter
(Fig. 12/A) until it completely covers it.
14.
Fit the filter screen (optional) back into the central lamellae filter by
assembling both elements and rotating the screen firmly as depicted
(Fig. 12/B). You will feel and hear the screen snap into place.
15.
Put the central lamellae filter with the filter screen (optional) and filter
fleece (optional) back into the dust container so that the catch at the
filter catches in the recess in the dust container cover (Fig. 12/C).
16.
Put the dust container back into its receptacle. You will feel and hear it
snap into place.
17.
Close the housing cover. You will feel and hear it snap into place.
ATTENTION:
Switch off the appliance before emptying the dust container. This will
prevent dust from damaging the appliance.
NOTE:
You can dispose of the contents of the dust container with your regular
domestic waste as long as it does not contain any substances not
permitted in domestic waste.

NOTE:
The dust container cannot be cleaned effectively with the central
lamellae filter fitted. The central lamellae filter must be cleaned at latest
when the cleaning indicator (Fig. 1/11) lights up.

ATTENTION:
The filter elements are washable, but may not be cleaned in
dishwashers or washing-machines. Also, do not use detergents or
brushes with hard bristles to clean the filters. Let the filters dry for
approx. 24 hours at room temperature after cleaning. Only put them
back into the appliance when they are completely dry.
