These commands are used to configure Domain Naming System (DNS)
services. Entries can be manually configured in the DNS domain name to IP
address mapping table, default domain names configured, or one or more
name servers specified to use for domain name to address translation.
Note that domain name services will not be enabled until at least one name
server is specified with the
command and domain lookup is
enabled with the
command.
ip domain-list
This command defines a list of domain names that can be appended to
incomplete host names (i.e., host names passed from a client that are not
formatted with dotted notation). Use the
no
form to remove a name from
this list.
