Entering Configuration Commands
To configure PortServer II, you enter commands at PortServer II’s command line
prompt on the configuration terminal. Type the command syntax including any
options on the configuration terminal keyboard. The descriptions of the commands in
this User’s Guide include only the most common options, and for details of all com-
mand options you should refer to the Command Reference Guide.
Note:
Characters that you must type are shown in the format:
command syntax [options]
Abbreviations
All PortServer II commands may be abbreviated to their shortest unique initial letter
or letters. For example, you can abbreviate the command:
set user name=jill
to:
set u n=jill
If you enter insufficient letters for PortServer II to identify the command, it will return
an error message.
You may enter an asterisk (“
*
”) in place of “
range=1-
n” to specify all of the ports
or tables entries of the same type.
