Activating the AUX input VW / SEAT / SKODA
To activate the AUX-input, press „Audio“, then „Options“ in the menu, then „AUX-source“ and then select
„Audio/Video“ with „Enter“.
In case the menu does not offer these possibilities of selection, the navigation system might have an older
software. These so-called A- and B-navis (on the label "VW Radio Navigations System”
„MFD"
it is not added
,
nor on the lateral stick-on label, last letter) can be activated by using an additional remote-voltage.
You are able to recognize the software version by pressing the keys 3 and 6 simultaneously. On the second
page (Enter, press the right knob once) you will find “STAMP” after the date of the software in clear text, e.g.
Nov 16 2000. Software versions dating from April 2000 or before must be updated by the VW dealer. Software
dating 16.11.2000 enables to activate the AUX-input as described before. For A- and B-MFD navis,

and also Audi Navi Plus, 12V (remote-voltage) has to be applied to the blue wire of 1213.
VW MFD-units with the index "C" sometimes have got the old B-software version. In this case AUX can not be
found in the menu. Instead of AUX you will find „TV/Video“. Even after connecting VID-ON (blue wire of 1213)
you will not succeed. In this case it is necessary to bring the software up-to-date (16.11.2000).
ATTENTION!
All information without warranty!
Manipulating the Navis’ hard- and software are at your own risk. We advise you to make updates only by
your VW-dealer!
For the connection of audio and video signals the interface 1412 is required.
