Operating Instructions
Starting your ice maker
1. Open the lid and fill the water reservoir with water. Make sure the water level in the water
reservoir is not over the ice collecting tray.
2. Press START button to turn the appliance on.
3. Select desired ice cube size by pressing “Select”.
The ice maker begin to work
Ice Maker Operation
1. The ice making process is as follows:
I. Water is pumped into the water tray from the water reservoir. It takes about 40
seconds.
Warming:
Please pump into least 1.4 liters of water first before use the first time.
II. Ice making cycle begins. The evaporator in the water tray starts to form ice on the
evaporator “fingers”.
III. It takes approximately 8 to 12 minutes (depending on ice selection) to complete the ice
making cycle. Once completed, the water tray will tilt backward: the remaining water
will flow back to the water reservoir and the ice cubes will drop from the “fingers”. You
will hear a sound when the ice cubes are released.
IV. In about 30 seconds, the water tray will tilt forward and the ice shovel will start to push
the ice into the ice collecting tray. Once the water tray returns to its leveled position,
the second ice making cycle begins.
Warming:
please select the “s” when ambient temperature is below 15
C.
2. The ice maker will detect any shortage of water periodically. If water is not enough, the
appliance will stop operating and the “DEFICIENT” indicator will light. Then press the
STOP button and fill the reservoir with water. Wait 3 minutes after indicator goes out and
press the start button. The ice maker will begin to make ice. Attention: if the water has
reached the max. water level, the ice maker will restart automatically.
3. When the ice cubes are collected and reach the ice sensor, the ice maker will stop
operating and the “ice full” indicator will light. When the ice is below the sensor and the
temperature of the sensor rises to approximately 10
C, the ice maker will restart the cycle.
4. There are three sizes of ice cubes available. larger the cube selected, the longer the time it
will take to complete the cycle. When the ambient temperature is lower than 15
C, the
small or medium ice cubes sizes are recommended to avoid ice cubes clumping together.
5. For best performance, water temperature should be between 7
C and 35
C and ambient
between 15
C and 35
C.
Maintenance
1. To ensure the cleanliness of the ice cubes, water in the reservoir must be replaced every
24 hours.
2. If the compressor stops for any reason such as water shortage, too much ice, power off etc,
do not restart the system right away. Wait 3 minutes, then restart the ice maker.
3. Remove the drain plug to drain the remaining water from the water reservoir when the ice
maker will not be used for long periods of time. Put the drain plug back after the water has
been drained.
4. Always use fresh water when starting ice production or after long shutoff period.
5. Please clean the ice maker regularly. Before cleaning, disconnect the power and remove
4 of 5
the ice cubes. Use a diluted solution of water and vinegar to clean the inside and outside
surface of the ice maker. Do not spray ice maker with chemicals of diluted agents such as
acid, gasoline.
Troubleshooting
Please note: if there is a power failure, the power cord should be disconnected. if someone
accidentally turn the power off during an ice making cycle, small ice chips would possibly be
produced during the restart cycle. If this occurred, the ice chips should be removed by
disconnecting the power cord and gently pushing the shovel to the rear of the cabinet and
removing the ice chips, otherwise these small ice chips would lodge in the automatic shovel
causing the shovel to jam.
This trouble shooting section is to be used only as a guideline to assist in following problems.
Problem
Possible Cause
Suggested Solution
The compressor works
abnormally with a buzzing
noise
The voltage is lower than
recommended
Stop the ice maker and do
not restart it until the voltage
is normal
Water shortage indicator light
is on
There is no water
Press the stop button, fill with
water, wait 3 minutes and
press the start button to
restart. Attention: if the water
has reached the max. water
level, the ice maker will
restart automatically
Ice full indicator light is on
Ice collecting tray is full and
the temperature is too low
Take out some ice
Indicators are off
Display are not on
No power or fuse operated
Turn power on or call for
service
Both DEFICIENT and ICE
FULL indicators are on
The oscillating mechanism of
water tray does not work
Check for blocked ice cubes,
if none, call for service
The ice made are too large
with pieces sticking together
The water temperature in the
water tray or ambient
temperature is too low
Stop the appliance and reset
the ice making time, restart
the machine after turning
appliance off
Conditions for ice making
cycle are right but no ice is
made
Refrigerant leaks or
sealed system is blocked
Call for service
Notes
1. If the ice maker is discarded. it is recommended to give it to the manufacturer or its service
agent.
2. It is normal for the compressor and condenser surfaces to reach temperatures between
70
C and 90
C during operation and surrounding areas may be hot to touch.
3. Due to fast freezing, ice cubes may appear ”cloudy”. This is trapped air in the water and
does not affect the taste or quality of the ice.
4. When the appliance is not operated, leave the door open at least 2 inches. This allows air
to dry the inside of the cabinet and reduces the chance for mildew.
5. It is forbidden to operate the ice maker while your hand is wet
6. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or
similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
7. The power must be disconnected before cleaning the appliance
8. The appliance must be placed in a plane position while you moving or transporting it.
9. Articles of flammability or explosive or corruption, the liquid or gas of high volatilization
should never be put into the appliance. Also this appliance should not work in the situation
with gas of flammability
10. The ice maker must not be played or operated by young children
