Visual inspection of the system
General
When checking or refilling coolant or lube oil, please consult Chapter 4,
Expendables .
Cooling system
Check coolant level
●
Depending on the structure of the system, the coolant level should be
checked at the appropriate place and topped up if necessary.
●
If coolant needs to be refilled, the percentage of antifreeze or corrosion
protection agent must be taken into account, see work card.
●
Open the coolant cap.
●
Fill coolant up to the appropriate mark.
●
Check the gasket of the cap for damage and renew if necessary.
●
Close the coolant cap.
Coolant circuit Check for leaks:
- hoses
- hose clips;
- pipe unions;
- flanges;
- compensators;
- and other components connected with the cooling system.
If leaks are discovered during the inspection, these must be eliminated imme-
diately.

The cooling system is under pressure depending on the engine tempe-
rature. Be careful when opening the cap. Risk of scalding!
The anti-corrosion agent is inflammable in its non-hardened
state!
