MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE RISE–AMBIENT TO TURBOCHARGER
INLET
The temperature differential between the ambient temperature and the temperature at the
turbocharger inlet (T
1
) needs to be determined.
The maximum temperature differential for the MBE4000 engine can be found in the “Technical
Data” section of this manual (refer to section 14).
4.4.4
AIR-TO-AIR SYSTEM EVALUATION TESTS
The air-to-air charge cooler system must be tested to verify that engine air intake temperatures
and pressure drop limits can be met as shown in the “Technical Data” section of this manual
(refer to section 14). This evaluation can be done simultaneously with the engine cooling index
test.
Maximum Temperature Rise–Ambient to Intake Manifold
The maximum temperature differential between the ambient temperature and the temperature at
the intake manifold needs to be determined.
See Figure 4-11 for temperature location, the location description is listed in Table 4-4.
