10. CHANGING HEPA/ULPA FILTERS
Disconnect Design-Aire from the power source prior to servicing your unit. Remove the #8-32 Philips tooth lock
screw and the six catches (4 on 2x2 Design-Aire) holding the filter housing to the HEPA/ULPA filter. Once the
screws and catches are removed simply lift the filter housing from the HEPA/ULPA filter. Remove your new
filter from its packaging and visually inspect it for sign of damage. Carefully line up the filter housing with the
new filter and place on filter. Re-attach the catches and screws.

11. ROOM-SIDE-REPLACEMENT FILTER
The Design-Aire Room-Side-Replacement filter features a 6.88” anodized aluminum filter housing. A unique
retaining strip system allows for quick easy filter changes without the use of tools, the gel sealant ensures a
leak-free uniform seal. Room-Side-Replacement filters are available in HEPA or ULPA filter configurations.
ROOM-SIDE-REPLACEMENT FILTER INSTALLATION PRECAUTIONS:
Filter installation requires two people
All unit frames must be secured to the “T” bar grid before filters may be installed.
During installation DO NOT exert force on the grill screen or damage will result
Short filter support strips must be installed first on all units except 2’ x 2’.
