Update Process and Verification
Important:
Before updating to the latest firmware, please make sure your DN-501C is
using Firmware Version
A-1.14
or later. If it is not, please update to A-1.14
before
updating to A-1.33: follow all of the steps below using the
DN501CFW.bin
file, and
then repeat the same procedure using the
DN501CFWA.bin
file.
To update the firmware on your DN-501C:
1. Unzip the contents of the downloaded
.zip
file to your Desktop.
2. Transfer the
DN501CFWA.bin
file from that
.zip
file to the root directory of a USB
storage device.
3. Make sure your DN-501C is securely connected to a power outlet and is powered
off, and then insert the USB storage device into it.
4. Power on DN-501C.
5. DN-501C's display will show the new firmware version number. Confirm the version
number is correct.
6. To continue with the update, turn the
Jog Wheel
on the front panel to select
OK
,
and then press the
Jog Wheel
.
During the update process, do not power off
DN-501C or disconnect it from the power outlet. Doing so can damage the unit.
To cancel the operation instead, turn the
Jog Wheel
on the front panel to select
Cancel
, and then press the
Jog Wheel
.
7. Allow the update process to complete, which may take approximately 1 minute.
The display may go dark during this time. After the update is completed, DN-501C
will automatically restart. Remove your USB storage device, and delete the
.bin
files.
Your DN-501C now has the newest firmware.
To check the firmware version on your DN-501C:
1. With the DN-501C powered on and stopped, press the
Menu
key.
2. Select
06 Utility
and press the
Jog Wheel
.
3. Select
03 Firmware Version
and press the
Jog Wheel
. The installed firmware
version will appear in the display.
