z

Ensure that the socket is well-accessible, so that you can remove the mains plug quickly,
if necessary.

z

Do not use the iron:

- the appliance or the accessories are damaged,
- the power cable or plug are damaged,
- the appliance has fallen on the floor.

z

Ensure that the power cable cannot be damaged by sharp edges or hot items, e.g. by
the hot soleplate.

z

Do not leave the iron unsupervised, as long as it is connected to the power supply.

z

Disconnect the mains plug from the socket:

- if you are not using the appliance or interrupt ironing (also with short

interruptions!),

- before cleaning or packing it away,
- before filling with or pouring out water
- if an obvious fault occurs during operation,
- in a thunder storm.

Always pull on the plug and not on the cable.

z

Also remove the mains plug from the socket, if you only intend to interrupt ironing for
a short time. However, always turn the temperature control knob to 0 first.

z

Do not carry out any modifications to the appliance or its mains cable. Only have
repairs carried out by a professional workshop, as appliances that have not been
properly repaired can be hazardous to the user. Also pay attention to the enclosed
guarantee conditions.

z

If the mains cable of this appliance should be damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its customer service or a similarly qualified person, in order to avoid
hazards. The power cable is a specialised cable.

Burning/scalding and fire hazard

z

The soleplate becomes very hot during use. Do not touch it and only touch the iron
on the handle. Never iron your clothing or other textiles on the body.

z

The escaping steam is very hot. Do not touch it. Never point the soleplate and steam
shot at people or animals.

z

Never place the iron with the hot soleplate downwards on a table, work surface, or
similar.  Always place the iron on its stand base or the designated and appropriate stand
surface on your ironing board.

z

Always use a stable, heat-resistant and stable surface for ironing, such as a sturdy
ironing board or for placing the iron on its stand base.

z

Do not leave the appliance unattended if it is heating up or still cooling down.

z

Allow the iron to cool off completely before cleaning or putting it away.
