6.3 RS-485 Communication Port
6.3.1 Function that RS-485 Port Supports
The RS-
485 communication port of
the
motion controller can function as Modbus master or slave. HMI, PLC
or other Modbus master device can read and write data in the devices inside
the
motion controller. The interval
time when the Modbus master accesses
the
motion controller
should exceed 5ms.
The progrom can not be downloaded via RS
-485 port. RS-485 supports Modbus protocol, ASCII as well as
RTU mode. The function codes which RS
-
485 port supports include
16#01, 16#02, 16#03, 16#05, 16#06,
16#0F and 16#10.
The station addresses that
RS-485 por
t supports are 1~255. The broadcast function is not
supported.

6.3.2 Definitions of RS-485 Port Pins
The
motion controller
’
s COM/SSI port consists of 15 pins. The external port is commonly used for RS
-485
communication
and SSI absolute encoder.
