To install a PDU horizontally in the 1-U space at the back of your rack, perform the following steps:

Open the front and back doors of the rack cabinet.

Identify and mark the location for the PDU in the lowest single-unit (1 U) position in which it
can be installed or in the position that is closest to the systems to which it will supply power.
Ensure that all power cords that you intend to connect to the PDU can reach the PDU location
you have selected.

Remove the 0-U mounting bracket from the PDU case by removing the six 6-32 x 0.31-inch flat-head
screws at the ends of the PDU case.
Save these screws to use in attaching the 1-U mounting brackets in step 4 (see Figure 1-5).

Secure the two 1-U mounting brackets to the PDU case with the screws you removed in step 3
making a tight connection (torque value is approximately 6-8 in-lbs), as shown in Figure 1-6.

Install the cage nuts in the second holes of the selected 1-U position on the rails.

Position the PDU and secure the unit to the rails with screws and washers, making a tight connection
(torque value is approximately 12-16 in-lbs), as shown in Figure 1-6.
