RoCE Configuration for SLES
To configure RoCE on the adapter for an SLES host, OFED must be installed and
configured on the SLES host. Some SLES hosts come with OFED installed
(in-box), and some do not (out-of-box). Choose the procedure that matches your
system.

Configuring In-box OFED for SLES Linux
To install in-box OFED for SLES Linux:
1.
While installing or upgrading the operating system, select the Infiniband
support packages.
2.
Install the following RPMs from the corresponding SLES SDK kit image:
libibverbs-devel-
x.x.x
.x86_64.rpm
(required for libqedr installation)
perftest-
x.x.x
.x86_64.rpm
(required for bandwidth and latency applications)
3.
Install the Linux drivers, as described in
“Installing Linux Drivers for RoCE in
an In-box OFED Environment” on page 14
Installing Out-of-box OFED for SLES Linux
To install out-of-box OFED for SLES Linux:
1.
Download latest out-of-box OFED from the following link:
http://downloads.openfabrics.org/OFED
.
2.
Remove the existing Linux drivers, as described in
in a RoCE Environment” on page 11
3.
Untar and install the out-of-box OFED. When prompted, copy and install the
following RPMs from the SLES12 SDK kit.
zlib-devel
to build mstflint
libnl-1_1-devel
to build libiwpm
tcl-devel
to build ibutils
glib2-devel
to build infiniband-diags
libudev-devel
to build infiniband-diags
libnl-1_1-devel
to build libfabric
4.
When the installation is complete, reboot the sever.
