switchport protected name
Use the
switchport protected name
command in Global Configuration mode
to adds the port to the protected group 1 and also sets the group name to
“protected”.
Syntax
switchport protected
groupid
name
name
no switchport protected
groupid
name
• groupid — Identifies which group the port is to be protected in.
(Range: 0–2)
• name — Name of the group. (Range: 0-32 characters)

This command has no default configuration.

This command has no user guidelines.
Example
The following example assigns the name “protected” to group 1.
console(config)#switchport protected 1 name protected
show switchport protected
Use the
show switchport protected
command to display the status of all the
interfaces, including protected and unprotected interfaces.
