Safety instructions
WARNING:
Do not attempt to lift the system by yourself to avoid potential injury. Do not apply uneven force to either end of the
system to prevent the chassis from distorting or bending. Keep the system parallel to the ground when lifting and moving it.
WARNING:
Opening or removing the system cover while the system is powered on may expose you to a risk of electric shock.
NOTE:
This product is intended for restricted access locations, such as a dedicated equipment room or equipment closet, in
accordance with the National Electrical Code, American National Standards Institute (ANSI), National Fire Protection
Association (NFPA) 70.
Equipment Location - The equipment placed in the restricted access location that can be accessed only by the service personnel or
users who have been instructed about the restrictions applied to the location. The location can be accessed using a tool or a key or any
other means of security, and is controlled by the authority responsible for the location.
CAUTION:
Do not operate the system without the cover for a duration exceeding five minutes. Operating the system without the
system cover can result in component damage.
CAUTION:
Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform troubleshooting and simple
repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support team.
Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions
that are shipped with your product.
CAUTION:
To ensure proper operation and cooling, all bays in the system and system fans must be always populated with a
component or a blank.
NOTE:
It is recommended that you always use an antistatic mat and antistatic strap while working on components inside the
system.
CAUTION:
Keep hands clear off the rotating fan blades of the high performance fans, as it may cause serious injury or cuts.
Ensure system is powered off before servicing.

Power off the system and all attached peripherals.

Disconnect the system from the electrical outlet, and disconnect the peripherals.
After working inside your system

Reconnect the peripherals and connect the system to the electrical outlet.

Power on the attached peripherals and then power on the system.
