Protection of the Drive Electronics
The drive electronics of the wheelchair are equipped with overload protection.
With a heavy load on the drive over a long period of time (for example, when driving up
steep inclines) and above all with a high ambient temperature at the same time, the
electronics can overheat. In this event the power of the vehicle is gradually throttled back
until finally standstill is reached. The status indicator displays the corresponding blink
code (see Chapter
"Fault Codes and Diagnosis Codes"
on page 18).
By the switching off and on of the drive electronics, the fault code is cancelled and the
electronics switch on again. It takes, however, some five minutes until the electronics
have cooled down enough so that the drive supplies its full power again.
If the drive is blocked due to an insurmountable obstacle such as, for example, a too
high a kerbstone or similar and during his attempts to overcome the obstacle the
driver allows the drive to operate against this resistance for more than 20 seconds the
electronics switch off the drive in order to prevent damage. The status indicator displays
the corresponding blink code (see Chapter
"Fault Codes and Diagnosis Codes"
on page
18). By the switching off and on of the drive electronics, the fault code is cancelled and the
electronics switch on again.
