2 / USING YOUR APPLIANCE
—
— Do not place any food in aluminium foil or in
plastic containers on the plate.
Tips
Use cookware of an appropriate size:
the diameter of the bottom of the cookware
should be equal to or greater than the
diameter of the radiant plate
Warning
When you connect the power cables of
any electrical appliances plugged in close
to the hob, ensure that they are not in
contact with the cooking zones.
MOST SUITABLE COOKWARE
FOR RADIANT/ HALOGEN
BURNERS (depending on model)
Use cookware with flat bottoms that are
perfectly flush with the surface of the burner:
—
in stainless steel with a thick, three-metal or
“sandwich” bottom,
—
in aluminium with a thick (smooth) bottom,
—
in enamelled steel.
—
— Utensils that have rough bottoms can hold
and transmit material that can stain or scratch
the hob.
—
— Make sure that the undersides of the
saucepans and the cooking surfaces are dry
and clean.
—
— Use cookware that is large enough to hold
the food you want to cook and select an
appropriate setting so as to avoid spills and
spatters.
—
— The more suitable the cookware, the better
will be the result.
—
— Use deep saucepans for dishes with a lot of
liquid; that way, nothing will be able to spill out
when it boils.
—
— The bottom of the saucepan should be the
same size as the cooking zone.
—
— Make sure the saucepan is properly centred
on the cooking zone.
—
— The cooking zones should always be kept
clean, as dirty surfaces on the cooking area
or on the cookware not only deteriorate your
hob but also increase the amount of
electricity you use.
—
— Make use of residual heat by turning the
plate off 5 minutes before you want cooking
to end.
