Control panel
The control panel elements are:
the thermostat (B)
is also the on/off switch .
The green pilot light (A),
which comes on when the
mains voltage is availble. Switch the temperature
regulator knob to a number position, the refrigerating
unit automatically operates by system control.
The
yellow pilot light (C)
comes on when
the
normal/super push botton
is pushed.
Important note:
if you operate the fast-freeze switch
or adjust the temperature regulator, it may happen
that your appliance’s refrigeration motor does not
start immediately but only after some time. This does
not mean that your appliance has a fault..
Starting up and temperature
regulation of freezer compartment
•
Insert the plug into the wall socket.
•
Turn the thermostat knob, clockwise, beyond the
off position. The appliance will start to operate.
The green pilot light (A) will light up.
•
Push the Normal/Super push button (D), the
yellow light (C) comes on.
We suggest setting the knob to the middle position to
obtain an internal temperature of approximately -18°C,
which guarantees proper freezing and conservation
of the frozen foods.
However, the exact setting should be chosen keeping
in mind that the temperature depends on:
•
room temperature;
•
how often the door is opened;
•
the quantity of food stored;
•
location of appliance.
Quick-freezing
For quick-freezing, push the Normal/Super button
(D). The super control light (C) will then light up.
The Quick-freezing function accelerates the freezing
of fresh food and, at the same time, protects
foodstuffs already stored from undesirable warming.
If this function is not ended manually, the appliance
switches off the Quick-freezing function after 52
hours. The yellow light goes out.
This function can be ended manually at any time by
pressing the Normal/Super button again. The yellow
light goes out.

Freezing fresh food
The 4-star compartment is suitable for long term
storage of commercially frozen food and for freezing
fresh food.
To freeze fresh foods it is not necessary to move the
thermostat knob from the normal setting. However,
for a faster freezing operation, turn the termostat
knob to the coldest setting; but remember that, in
this condition, the refrigerator compartment
temperature might drop below 0°C. If this oocurs
reset the thermostat knob to a warmer setting.
Storage of frozen food
When first starting-up or after a period out of use,
before putting the products in the compartment let
the appliance run for at least two hours on the
coldest setting, then turn the thermostat knob to the
normal operating position.
To obtain the best performance from this appliance,
you should:
if large quantities of food are to be stored, remove all
drawers and baskets from appliance and place food
on cooling shelves.
Pay careful attention not to exceed load limit stated on
the side of the upper section (where applicable).
Important
If there is a power failure when food is in the
freezer, do not open the door of the freezer
compartment. The frozen food will not be
affected if the power cut is of short duration (up
to 6-8 hours) and the freezer compartment is full,
otherwise, it is recommended that the food
should be used within a short time (a
temperature increase of the frozen food shortens
its safe storage period).
Thawing
Deep-frozen or frozen food, prior to being used, can
be thawed in the refrigerator compartment or at
room temperature, depending on the time available
for this operation.
Small pieces may even be cooked still frozen,
directly from the freezer: in this case, cooking will
take longer.
