Procedures to follow for descaling, or checking or replacing the magnesium anodes
1.
Cut off the cold water supply and drain the DHW tank. To drain
though the safety unit, turn the unit to drain and turn on a hot
water tap (or a bleed valve) to allow air to enter.
2.
Pull out the DHW sensor (
A
).
3.
Remove the inspection trap (13 mm spanner) (
B
).
4.
Check the anode and replace it if necessary (
C
).
5.
Remove limescale deposits in the form of sludge or strips in the
bottom of the tank. On the other hand, do not touch limescale
adhering to the walls of the tank as it provides effective protection
against corrosion and improves the insulation of the DHW tank.
6.
Descale the exchanger in order to maintain its performance
levels.
7.
Fit the unit together.
8.
Replace the seal
D
and position it in the inspection opening,
taking care to fit the lug pointing to the outside of the DHW
calorifer.
9.
The sensor
A
coming from the boiler should be replaced in the
thimble tube
The flange mounting bolts must not be excessively tight:
6 Nm +1/-0
Use a dynamometric spanner.
Approximately 6 Nm is obtained by manipulating the box
spanner with the small lever and 15 Nm by manipulating it with
the large lever.
10.
After reassembly, check the watertightness of the lateral flange.
11.
Switch on.
