Upgrading the Rhino II Android Firmware
When you upgrade the Rhino II firmware, you update the operating
system (OS), the drivers and the included Applications.
You have two options:
• Local upgrade.
• Upgrade with adb tool (see Appendix 3 – Adb Tool Usage on page
43 ).
In both cases, you need to download the upgrade OTA package from
the Datalogic website.
Local Upgrade
1. Make the OTA package accessible to the Rhino II. You have two
options:
a. Copy the OTA package in an SD card and then insert the Sd
card in the Rhino II SD card slot.
b. Copy the OTA package in a USB flash drive and then plug the
USB flash drive into one of the Rhino II USB ports.
2. Open the UpdateApp application.
3. Select the OTA package you want to install.
4. Tap INSTALL UPDATE .
5. A window is displayed asking if you want to continue. Tap:
a. YES to continue.
b. NO to cancel.
6. Wait for some minutes. During the upgrade, information will be
displayed showing the current status of the process.
