Appendix 3 – Adb Tool Usage
Android Debug Bridge (adb) is a versatile command-line tool that
lets you communicate with the device. The adb command facilitates
a variety of device actions, such as installing and debugging
applications, and it provides access to a Unix shell that you can use
to run a variety of commands on a device.
To use adb with Rhino II device, follow these steps:
1. Install adb tool on your PC:
•
Download and install SDK Platform Tools:
https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-
tools.html
.
2. Enable
Developer options
and
Debugging
:
•
Open
Settings
.
•
Scroll to the bottom and select
About tablet
.
•
Scroll to the bottom and tap
Build number
7 times.
3. Connect the device to the local network via Wi-Fi or via Ethernet.
4. Get the device IP address from Android:
•
Open
Settings
.
•
Scroll to the bottom and select
About tablet
.
•
Tap
Status
.
5. Type the following command on your PC:
adb connect [device IP]:5555
6. From Rhino II device (only on first connection):
•
accept the RSA key that allows debugging through your PC.
