Controlling a 

dCS Scarlatti

 DAC 

Press the silver button by the

 

DAC

 

label to jump to DAC page 1. 

 

 

DAC Page 1 – Inputs

 

Press a button to select an input. 

 

Input+

 – Selects the next input in the sequence. 

 

1394-0

, selects source 0 on the 1394 interface, 

1394-1

 selects source 

1, 

1394-2

 selects source 2. If more sources are connected, use the 

Input+ 

button to select them. 

In a typical 4-box system, 

1394-0

 is the Transport channel (e.g. STT) 

while 

1394-1

 is the Upsampler channel (e.g. SUP). 

The 

Paganini

 and 

Debussy

 DACs respond similarly, but have fewer inputs. 

The 

Puccini

 Player responds to the 

Input+

 button only. 

 

 

DAC Page 2 – Options

 

 The 

Sync Source Setting

 buttons (

WClk

Audio

 and 

Master

) set 

the sync source for the current input. The DAC stores this setting 
separately for each input. Note that the Word Clock connections 

must

 

be wired correctly for Master mode operation or to sync to Word Clock 
(see the DAC manual).  

 The 

Filter

 button changes the DAC filter setting. See the DAC manual 

for information on filters. 

 Press 

the 

Balance

 button to use the 

Volume

 control on the left side of 

the handset to adjust the 

Balance

. Press again to change back. 

 Press 

the 

Phase

 button to change the phase of all the DAC’s 

analogue outputs. Press again to return to normal phase. 

 The 

Display On/Off

 button turns the main display on and off. 

 Press 

the 

Wake/Sleep

 button at the end of a listening session to mute 

the DAC outputs, close the menu if it is open and turn the display off. 
Press the 

Wake/Sleep

 button again to return to normal operation. 

The 

Paganini

 DAC responds similarly. 

The 

Puccini

 Player responds to the
