Description of the device

Features

The IPS-PA480 is a professional high power Public Adress Amplifier:

• One balanced XLR and one 6.3 stereo input socket

• LED indicators for PROT/ TEMP/ CLIP/ SIG
• High power output, rated power is 480W (RMS)
• Low impedance 4Ω, 8Ω  and high voltage 70V/ 100V output
• Supplied speaker protection circuit and signal compressor circuit

  1. Power LED.

Indicates that the amplifier is turned on.

  2. Prot LED.

Indicates that the amplifier is in protection mode. This either caused by a short circuit in the output
load or a mismatch of impedance. Check that the impedance of your speakers matches the output.
In case of using the 70V or 100V outputs this means that your total speaker-power may never exceed
480W. Using less power this is no problem in 100V systems.
In case you’re using the low impedance outputs (4 or 8

Ω

) make sure your speaker impedance

matches the output impedance. The total speaker-power should be at least 480W.

  3. Clip LED.

The LED lights up when the distortion exceeds 0.5%. This means that the output-signal is too strong,

so you should reduce the input-signal. If the LED lights up half or slightly, it means auto compression
Function starts. If it's fully on, it means that the input-signal is too strong and has exceeded the
      compression range.

  4. Treble.

Use to adjust the treble frequencies to your preference.

  5. AC Power Switch.

This is the main Power switch. Press to turn the amplifier on.

  6. Signal LED.

The LED lights up when the output is above 200mV.

  7.

Temp LED.

These LEDs will light if the amplifier runs to hot and the unit is temperature protection mode. The unit
doesn’t restart until the temperature drops to a safe value.

  8. Bass.

Use to adjust the Bass frequencies to your preference.

  9.

Mid.

Use to adjust the Mid frequencies to your preference.

10. Volume

Use to adjust the volume level.

11. Air entrance.

IPS-PA Series amplifiers are cooled by a single, rear-mounted fan, Cool air flows over the heat sinks
And  exhausts through the rear grills, Make sure these outlets remain clear to allow unrestricted air
      flow.
