Operation conditions
The electric device should be used for its intended purpose only and within limits specified by the
manufacturer, concerning:
•
Loading.
•
Cooling.
•
Service interval.
•
Ambient conditions such as temperature and moisture.
The electric device is designed for these conditions:
•
Ambient operating temperature limits: -40°C...+85°C.
•
Maximum altitude 3000 m above sea level.
•
Maximum coolant liquid temperature at the inlet of the coolant circuit, see product data sheets.
•
Coolant liquid must be a mixture of water and glycol with maximum of 52% glycol content. See
Chapter
The electric device must be pre-charged, see Chapter
If the operation limits are exceeded and the electric device is damaged, please contact local Danfoss
representative.
Pre-charging
Do the pre-charging correctly, or the high inrush current may break external electrical
components of the electric device.
The electric device DC-link capacitance can be found from the data sheet.
Pre-charging of the DC-link is mandatory before connecting to another DC-source, for example, a high
voltage battery, if the voltage difference between the DC-link and the DC-source is higher than 20 V
DC
.
Pre-charging charges the DC-link in a controlled manner, limiting the inrush current going to DC-link
capacitor before the DC-source is connected directly to the DC-link.
Condition monitoring during operation
Risk of permanent damage to the electric device. Use the electric device only if the technical
guidelines and ambient conditions given in this user guide and in the data sheet are met.
