Z5027 E3 Ball joint wall bracket
The E3 Ball joint wall bracket allows a single E3 loudspeaker to be
mounted on a ceiling, wall or other suitable surface and enables the
loudspeaker to be aimed at almost any angle.
Assembly
Each E3 Ball joint wall bracket is supplied with two M8x18 hex head
bolts, plain and shakeproof washers. These fixings are used to bolt
the mounting plate to the mating M8 threaded inserts on one of the
four side panels of the E3 loudspeaker (tool required: open-end
spanner or ring spanner 13 mm across flats).
A tube section connects the ball joint housing to a square mounting
plate with four fixing holes which accept 6 mm screws.
Fixing bolts longer than those supplied must not be used. Longer
bolts can punch in the E3 threaded inserts breaching the cabinets
air-tight seal.
Load safety information
The E3 Ball joint wall bracket is designed to support the 8 kg weight
of a single E3 loudspeaker. Because of the heavier weight of the E1,
it cannot be used with that cabinet.
For wall mounting, the E3 Ball joint wall bracket is fitted to the top or
bottom of the loudspeaker cabinet , the maximum vertical angle is
restricted to 20°. For greater vertical angles, mount the bracket on
one of the cabinet side panels.
Operation
The Ball joint is secured in position using two screws on opposite sides
of the ball. A thumb screw allows quick setting of the angle, and a
hidden screw (3 mm internal Allen screw) is used to firmly secure the
Ball joint in the selected position.
Before the joint is installed, first set the hidden screw so that you can
feel a slight resistance when you turn the joint with the thumb screw
slackened off. When the thumb screw is tightened the Ball joint
should lock securely in the selected position.
