VIP 4500 Configuration Using
Tera Term
®
Initial configuration and property edits of the VIP 4500 are typically accomplished using Venus 7000
software; generally, this approach is the easiest and most practical. Tera Term
®
provides another
method for entering the same parameters and offers the GC (Get Configuration) command, which
produces a readout of current settings and is mostly used for troubleshooting.
4.1 Using Tera Term
®
1.
Using a serial cable, link the DB-9 connector port on the VIP 4500 to an open
COM
port
on the DMP 7000 control computer. The DB-9 port on the VIP 4500 console is
immediately to the left of the VMax4
TM
Input port.
Note:
Make sure the processor is turned on and Venus
®
7000 sign service is stopped.
2.
Open Tera Term
®
and go to
Setup > Serial Port
.

In the Port field, enter the
COM
port
on the DMP 7000 connected to
the VIP
4400.

In the Serial Port setup window,
configure the port settings as
shown in
