Operating mode Reducing
Reduced heating (lower target room temperature) according to
the setback temperature set in the [T-Reduced] parameter (see
chap. 3.4.4).
Hot water generation according to the set target temperatures
and switching cycles in the [DHW Program 1] hot water time
program (see chap. 3.4.5).
Operating mode Heating
Heating according to the target room temperature set in the [T-
Room 1 Setpoint] parameter (see chap. 3.4.3). A connected
outside temperature sensor (weather-dependent T-HS control
unit) or a connected room control unit also influence the target T-
HS.
Hot water generation according to the set target temperatures
and switching cycles in the [DHW Program 1] hot water time
program (see chap. 3.4.5).
Operating mode Summer
Only hot water generation is carried out according to the set
target temperatures and switching cycles in the [DHW Program
1] hot water time program (see chap. 3.4.5).
All controllers integrated in the RoCon system via the CAN bus
are primarily also switched to the "Summer" operating mode.
Automatic 1 operating mode (time program)
Automatic heating and setback mode according to the permanent
time programs (see chap. 3.4.7):
– [HC Program 1]
– [DHW Program 1]
Automatic 2 operating mode (time program)
Automatic heating and setback mode according to the permanent
time programs (see chap. 3.4.7):
– [HC Program 2]
– [DHW Program 2]
Tab. 3-6 Operating mode changeover via EXT input
Besides these operating modes, different temporary heating pro-
grams (see tab. 3-7) are available that are carried out with priority
after activation.
* only with technician code.
Tab. 3-7 Overview of temporary heating program
In the [Standby] operating mode, the burner is discon-
nected from the power supply (energy efficiency) if the
following conditions are fulfilled:
– The burner has been off for at least 5 min
– The outdoor temperature sensor (RoCon OT1) is con-
nected and correctly parametrised in the system configura-
tion
– The outside temperature is more than 3 °C
– The frost protection function is not active in any connected
heating circuit
– No communication error to the firing unit is pending and
– the Daikin heat generator has been switched on for at least
10 min.
If the hot water readiness is in setback mode in the
active operating mode,
a temporary
"DHW Re-
heating"
can be set with the rotary switch setting
without having to change other standard settings (see
chap. 3.4.6).
EXT input
Connected via the J8 connection of the heat generator
on the "EXT" terminals and potential-free contact wired
with a resistance, the operating mode can also be changed from
an external device (e.g. solar control unit, modem, …) (see
tab. 3-6).

The resistances specified in tab. 3-6 function in a toler-
ance field of 5%. Resistances outside this tolerance
field are interpreted as an open input. The heat genera-
tor switches back to the previously active operating
mode.
The input is not considered for resistance values greater than
the value for "Automatic 2".

If a temporary heating program (Emission Meas-
urement, DHW Reheating, Party, Away, Holiday, Va-
cation, Screed, STL Test) is started during the selected
operating mode, the control is carried out with priority
given to the settings for this heating program.
