Flare’s inner surface MUST be flawless.

17.2.6 To connect the refrigerant piping to the indoor unit
CAUTION
Install the refrigerant piping or components in a position where they are unlikely to
be exposed to any substance which may corrode components containing refrigerant,
unless the components are constructed of materials that are inherently resistant to
corrosion or are suitably protected against corrosion.
WARNING: MILDLY FLAMMABLE MATERIAL
The R32 refrigerant (if applicable) in this unit is mildly flammable. Refer to the
outdoor unit specifications for the type of refrigerant to be used.

Pipe length
. Keep refrigerant piping as short as possible.

Flare connections
. Connect refrigerant piping to the unit using flare
connections.

Insulation
. Insulate the refrigerant piping, the insulating tape should be
wrapped from the L-shaped bend all the way to the end inside the unit as
follows:

NOTICE
Make sure to insulate all refrigerant piping. Any exposed piping might cause
condensation.
