capacity. Avoid unnecessary overload which can be harmful to the user and deteriorate tool opera-
tion.
7. Always select a tool appropriate for the job.
− Do not try to use a small tool and inappropriate attachment for a job that requires a heavy-duty
tool.
A tool must not be used to do a job it was not designed for.
8. Make sure your are properly dressed while working.
− Do not wear loose-fitting clothes or any jewellery. They can get caught in the moving parts of
power
tool. It is recommended to wear rubber gloves and non-slipping shoes while using a power tool
outdoors. Long hair should be tucked under the headgear.
9. Use safety goggles.
− Always use safety glasses or goggles while working. If tool operation produces dust, use a protec-
tive dust-mask as well.

10. Power cord must not be overstretched.
− Never carry a power tool holding it by power cord, or unplug it by pulling at the cord. Keep power
cord away from heat, oil, and sharp edges.
11. Keep a safe, stable footing while working.
− Keep good balance by standing with your legs apart.
12. Take good care of your power tool.
− The cutting bit should always be sharp and clean. This will ensure safe and effective performance.
Follow the instructions concerning lubrication and change of accessories. Power cord should be
periodically inspected and replaced if any damage is found. Tool handles should be kept dry, clean,
without any oil or grease marks.
13. During maintenance or replacement of accessories power tool must be disconnected from power
source.
14. Before proceeding with maintenance operations or replacing accessories like discs, a power tool
must be disconnected from power source.
15. Remove all adjustment keys and instruments.
− Make it your custom to check whether all adjustment keys and other auxiliary elements have been
removed before switching a power tool on.
16. Avoid accidental starting of power tool.
− Never carry a power tool connected to power supply with your finger on the trigger switch. Before
plugging in the power cord, make sure that the trigger switch is in the OFF position.
17. Using extension cord.
− If use of extension cord is necessary, check whether the extension cord diameter is equal to or
bigger than the one required for the rated power input of the power tool.
18. Exercise caution.
− Pay attention to your work. Use your common sense. Never use a power tool when your are tired.
19. Check the condition of power tool.
− Before using a power tool inspect carefully the guard or other parts subject to damage to see
whether they can function as required. You should also check whether the moving parts are in the
right position, whether there is no friction, and whether everything is properly fastened. Any dama-
ged elements of a power tool should be properly repaired or replaced by a qualified person. Dama-
ged triggers/switches should be replaced by a qualified person. Never use a power tool if the trigger
switch does not work properly.
20. Check supply voltage.
− Power tool must not be connected to power supply before checking, whether power supply volta-
ge corresponds to the voltage on power tool rating plate.
21. Replacement parts.
− Use of improper parts or accessories other than recommended can result in bodily injury.
22. Always have your power tool repaired by a qualified person.
− Power tool was manufactured in accordance with appropriate safety regulations. Only a qualified
person can repair power tools. Unauthorized repair may be dangerous for the user.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE OF A JIG SAW
While mounting or replacing blades always follow strictly the jig saw instruction manual.
Use only the blades in good operating condition. The entire surface of jig saw foot should always be
in contact with the work piece. Never apply a pressure on the jig saw that could decrease its opera-
ting speed. Before putting a jig saw away always switch it off by means of trigger. While not in use,
jig saw should always be disconnected from power supply. Before cleaning the saw or changing the
blade, always disconnect it from power supply. Jig saw is a hand tool and it must never be
mounted in the reverse position and used as saw-bench.

3. STRUCTURE AND APPLICATIONS

Top handle jig saw is a Class II, double-insulated hand power tool. It is driven by a single-phase
commutator motor. Power tools of this type are widely used for cutting wood and wood-like mate-
rials, plastic and metal. Jig saw offers the possibility of orbital blade movement with speed adjust-
ment (4-position). Also the speed of blade reciprocating movement is adjustable.

 BLADE MOUNTING

4. INSTRUCTIONS OF USE

Before connecting jig saw to power supply always make sure that the supply voltage
corresponds to the rated voltage on the saw rating plate!
Jig saw is started by pressing the trigger switch. The trigger may be kept in the ON position by
pressing the trigger lock button. To switch the power tool off, press the trigger again and release it.
Jig saw speed adjustment
Rotational speed of a jig saw is adjusted by turning speed control dial to the desired position. It
allows to adjust power tool operational speed to the type of work material. To increase the speed
turn the dial forward, to decrease saw operation speed – turn it backward. The higher the number
appearing on the dial circumference the higher jig saw cutting speed.
Foot adjustment for angle cutting

Fig. 4

Disconnect power tool from power supply. Raise the guard and use Allen key to slacken the screws
on jig saw foot. Move the foot plate backwards and set it at the desired angle according to the scale.
Move the foot forward and secure it with screws. The scale helps to incline the foot to the desired
angle, i.e. 00, 150, 300 or 450. Having finished adjustment, remember to put the Allen key back in the
place where you normally keep it.

Dust extraction

Place the blade on the intended cutting line. To facilitate dust removal from work surface the jig saw
features a dust blowing system of its own for clearing the surface being cut. Additionally, it is possi-
ble to connect vacuum cleaner pipe to the dust removal port in the rear part of the jig saw. Dust
blower system works more effectively with the jig saw protective guard lowered down.

JIG SAW OPERATION GUIDELINES
Cutting holes
Saw blade may be plunged directly in the work, without drilling a hole first, thus avoiding the need to
use an additional power tool. First, measure accurately and mark the spot where you intend to start
cutting. Then tilt the saw so that the rounded edge of the foot rests on the work surface but the
blade does not touch it yet. Switch the jig saw on and move the blade edge towards the marked
spot. Gradually lower the rear edge of the foot at the same time plunging the blade in the desired
spot of the work-piece. While doing this do not move the jig saw forward until the blade has fully
gone into the material and the tool foot is in full contact with the work surface. Alternatively, you may
start with drilling a 12mm diameter hole from which to start cutting.

5. MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICATION

Jig saw is normally a maintenance-free tool. However, it is recommended to lubricate blade guide
roll periodically. A drop of oil applied in that spot will extend the roll life. When carbon brushes are
worn (down to the height of about 4 mm), replace them both. For guaranteed power tool reliability,
have all the maintenance and service jobs done by a qualified person.
