BLACK BEAR HOIST

1.1 Safety Information

This manual provides important and crucial information for all personnel involved with
installation, operation, and maintenance of Black Bear hoists. Even if you are familiar with
this or similar equipment, you should read this manual carefully before operating the
hoists. Follow the instructions explained in this manual to avoid potential accidents or
injuries.

1.1.1 Sign Description

The following signs are used to indicate potential danger.

Notice
This sign indicates crucial notice, advice, and application remarks.

Caution
This sign indicates possibility of damage to the hoist/trolley in case of non-
compliance with the manual instructions.

Attention
This sign indicates all instructions relating to safety at work. Failure to comply
with these instructions will result in serious injury or death. Follow these
instructions at all times and be particularly alert and cautious.

Danger
This sign indicates possible danger to all personnel working in or around
hoist/trolley operating zone. Failure to comply to safety instructions may cause
serious injury or death.

1.2 Operating Instructions

Instructions are provided throughout this manual to inform the proper ways to operate

the hoist and prevent possible dangers. Safe operating instructions are not
necessarily limited to following list. Refer to specific sections in the manual for additional
safety information and operating instructions.

1. Only allow safety and operation trained personnel to work the hoist/trolley.
2. Only operate the hoist if you are physically fit to do so. 
3. When a "DO NOT OPERATE" sign is placed (on any part of the hoist), do not operate 

the hoist until the sign has been removed by a designated personnel.
