DSL-24MF
ADSL Microfilter
ADSL Microfilter
ADSL devices such as ADSL modems and routers share a common telephone line with conventional analog telephone, fax
machines, answering machines and other analog telephony devices. It is necessary to install a low pass filter to block the
higher frequency channels used to deliver DSL services for every telephone or POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) device
that shares the line with the ADSL equipment.
Various Protections Provided
For POTS voice band service, the low pass filter provides
protection from ADSL signals which may impact through
non-line or other effects remote devices (handset, fax,
voice band modem, etc.) and central office operation. For
ADSL signals, it also provides protection from high
frequency transients and impedance effects that occur
during POTS operation (ringing transient, on-hook, off-
hook transient and so on). Because the microfilter
connects directly on the subscriber loop media, it must
also provide some protection for externally induced line
hits or faults which could damage any attached equipment
or endanger human interacting with the installed
equipment. The circuit protection will be provided mostly
by standard central office line protection means and
additional protection measures built into POTS
filter to protect against line over-stress which could
damage the filter itself.
For ADSL G.lite System
For Use With POTS Device Only
Easy Installation
The DSL-24MF in-line ADSL microfilter is specifically
designed to implement the functionality of low pass filter in
G.lite system. G.lite technology is similar to full rate ADSL
that uses the DMT technology, but operates at a lower data
rate of up to 1.5Mbps downstream and 512Kbps upstream,
depending on line conditions and lengths.
The DSL-24MF in-line ADSL microfilter is intended for use
with POTS devices only. Do not install this filter between an
ADSL device and the phoneline wall socket.
The DSL-24MF in-line ADSL microfilter easily connects to
any telephone, G3 fax machine, answering machine and
other POTS devices through an RJ-11 phoneline connector.
The other RJ-11 connector on the DSL-24MF connects to a
wall socket. No configuration is needed.
RJ-11 Connector - Insert into wall socket
RJ-11 port - Attach to telephone cable
