Setting up your D-BOX HEMC™
1.
Carefully unbox your HEMC™ and remove it from the plastic bag.
2.
Please read the online Terms and Conditions before breaking the seal on the box containing your cables (web address is on
the seal). Read and keep all documents contained in the cable box.
3.
Screw both antennas into the appropriate connectors on the HEMC™ unit.
4.
Connect the power cord and AC adaptor. Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet.
5.
Plug the USB cable from the KAI-1P into any USB port on the HEMC™ (KAI-1P and USB cables are sold separately).
6.
Connect your actuator control module (ACM) to your KAI-1P using an RJ45 shielded Ethernet cable (RJ-45 is sold
separately).
7.
Connect an analog audio source from your home theater system (output) to the HEMC™ 1/8 audio-in port. (Cable sold
separately. Can also be connected via an external converter that accepts Coaxial Audio, Toslink or HDMI connections)
8.
Power up your new HEMC™ unit.
9.
Install the D-BOX HEMC™ app on your tablet or Windows PC.
10.
Connect the HEMC™ to your tablet or PC via your home network. There are two options. Wi-Fi or wired (LAN).

To connect via cable: Connect your HEMC™ unit to your LAN by plugging a standard Ethernet cable into an
Ethernet port on your HEMC™.

To connect via Wi-Fi:
(You must complete ALL the following steps)
a.
The HEMC™ creates its own Wi-Fi hotspot. Make sure your Wi-Fi connection is active on your tablet or PC.
b.
Select the HEMC™ network on your list of available networks.
Your tablet or PC will now be wirelessly connected to the HEMC™.

On iPad: Download the app from the App Store.
•
On the Windows tablet: Insert the included USB key into the USB port on the tablet. Double click on
the installer. The app will install automatically.
•
On any Windows PC (desktop or laptop): Insert the USB key and double click on the installer. The app
will install automatically.
