NORMAL OPERATION
The status LED will flash while the P165 is armed, the engine
will be immobilised. Inserting and removing a valid Touchkey
from the receptacle will disarm the immobiliser and extinguish
the status LED. The vehicle can now be driven. If the ignition
switch is not turned to the ‘ON’ position within 40 seconds, the
P165 will automatically re-arm and immobilise the engine. The
P165 will also auto-arm within 40 seconds of the engine being
switched off after a journey.
CODING NEW TOuChkEYS
Should the client require extra Touchkeys for the P165, provision
has been made for installers to program new Touchkeys. Each
Touchkey is individually coded. To code a new touchkey
complete the following procedure: -
Ensure P165 is disarmed (status LED extinguished).
Turn ignition from ‘ACC’ position to ‘ON’ position seven times,
counting once each time key is in the ‘ON’ position and leaving
the key in the ‘ON’ position when seven is reached.
The status LED will begin to glow when the P165 is ready to
accept a new Touchkey.
Insert the new Touchkey until status LED extinguishes. The P165
will automatically timeout program mode after 0 seconds.
The P165 contains enough memory to remember four individual
Touchkeys.
OVER-RIDING IMMOBILISER
If a Touchkey is lost, stolen or fails to operate, the client is able to
over-ride the P165 by entering a Personal Identification Number
(PIN) via the ignition switch. . This PIN is supplied on a PIN
OVER RIDE CARD, and is unique to each system. To use the
PIN carry out the following procedure: -
Turn ignition switch to ‘ON’ position, the status LED will glow
constantly.
Turn ignition switch to ‘ACC’ position and count LED flashes,
turn ignition switch to ‘ON’ position when number of flashes
corresponds with first number in PIN. The first PIN has now been
entered.
Repeat step 2 for the final three numbers in the PIN.
At this time the status LED will extinguish and the engine can be
started.
ANY DIGIT MARKED “0” INDICATES 0 FLASHES
ChANGING PIN
Disarm the P165.
Turn ignition switch from the ACC position to the ON
position 19 times, count each time key is in the ON position.
Leave ignition ON when 9 is reached. Status LED will
glow constantly.
Turn ignition switch to the ACC position and count LED
flashes corresponding to first digit of the new PIN, turn

ignition to the ON position when count is achieved.
Repeat step 3 for last three PIN digits.
LED will flash quickly when all PIN digits are coded.
INSTALLATION
The preferred location for control module is hidden behind dash,
ensure the location will ensure the module will not suffer water
ingressions from leaking vehicle seals.
All cables should be taped or sleeved with automotive PVC
sleeving into one single loom. The length of this sleeving should
enable the unit to be lowered down from hiding spot for future
service work.
Solder and insulate all joins well to ensure good electrical
connections.
All wires must be cut to length when connecting to destination,
thus removing any wire identification.
INSTALLING TOuChkEY RECEPTACLE
Unplug the Touchkey receptacle cable from the control module
end. Thread the cable through hole drilled on the dash. Then re-
insert into module.
WIRE DESCRIPTIONS
Chassis
Use lug terminal and self-tapping tech screw screwed into metal
bulkhead for chassis connections. There are two separate Ground
wires from the system, these should be terminated and connected
to separate points.
Power
Most suitable constant 2V power source will be found at fuse
box or power feed to ignition switch.
ignition
Most suitable ignition source will be found leading from ignition
switch. This wire must carry 2V only when ignition switch is
in the ‘ON’ position. This wire should NOT be connected to an
accessory supply.
immobilisation
Common power feed to EFI, fuel pump power feed, ignition
power feed are good immobilisation points which should all be
able to be located at the vehicle fuse box. Please select one for
each of the immobilisation circuits.
sPare
The spare wire outputs a negative signal while the P165 is armed.
By connection SPARE to a relay, the relay can energise the car
horn if an attempt to hot wire the engine is made. If the Anti-
hotwire feature is not used, the SPARE wire should be loomed in
amongst the other wires, but not connected to any wires.
