Understanding How the OnBoard Manages Communications With Devices

At the prompt, confirm that you want to continue by entering “y.”
A list of templates appears.

Select a template to test.
A list of configured devices appears.

Select a device to test the template against.
The editor runs the commands in the specified template and returns
debugging information that you can record for making command changes
in a new template.

Choose a command to test.

At the prompt, enter the username and password you used when logging
into the OnBoard.

Go to “To Use the onbdtemplate Utility to Create a New Template” on
page 268.
Command Templates
Command templates are stored in the
/etc/onboard_templates.ini
file. The command templates contain text commands that are used to interact
with the service processors and devices.
The following table lists the default command templates and describes type
types of devices to which they apply.
