4.5 Install the Card

4.5.1 PCI/PMC Card Installation

Node configuration is pre-set or defined in the Configuration File. Therefore, after the

card has been inspected it is ready to be installed.

CAUTION

: Make certain that the power to the host computer is OFF. Check with the

host computer manufacturer to find out which slots are available for third party memory

cards before installing the S SC150e Network card into any system.

Installing any type of card in a non-standard PMC slot may result in serious damage to

the host machine.

Remove the bulkhead cover plate where the S SC150e host card will

be.

(SC150e PMC only) Mount the PMC card on a motherboard, adapter, or carrier

card as shown in Figure 4-7.

Slide the card into a desired peripheral bus slot while applying enough force to

ensure a tight fit into the backplane connector. After insertion, use a standard

Phillips-head screwdriver to secure the faceplate onto the frame of the computer

chassis.

Connect the Transmitter and Receiver fiber-optic cables to the S

SC150e card.

NOTE

: Contact Curtiss-Wright Controls concerning availability of cabinet kits for

closed chassis operation.
