How to deploy an image to C312
Suggested hardware for this task:
Micro-USB to USB A cable
USB based keyboard and mouse.
A power supply, we recommend an adjustable laboratory supply with voltage and current meters.
Any supply from 12Vdc to 30Vdc providing two amps can be used.
An x86_64 based computer with Ubuntu 18.04 installed. This system should have a prepared image
ready to be flashed.
HDMI monitor
Connect the target C312 to a cable set with the Micro-USB in the OTG port and your mouse and
keyboard
plugged into one of the other USB ports.
Set the power supply to 28 volts and set the current limit between 1.5 and 2 amps
Connected the power supply but leave the power off.
Position the 'force-reload' button in reach.
Hold the 'force-reload' button down while powering on. Wait 20 seconds after powering on before
releasing the button.
In the base/Resource development directory run 'source cw_setup.sourceme' if you are in a terminal that
has not had this done already.
Now run C312_ImageFlash in that same terminal.
C312_ImageFlash
Additional Notes
Overlays should ideally be unmounted before you shut down the development machine.
There is a step that may be needed before unmounting. Overlays mark files in the mount point that exist
in the bottom layers but that have been deleted in the top layer. What this means to you is that if you are
deleting files as part of your image creation you must capture the information of what files were deleted
before unmounting and then remounting or the files will magically reappear. Curtiss Wright is currently in
the process of making a set of scripts to help with overlay use. (These will be used for creating updates.)
