• Modifying the bandwidth in the setup page (when not using a ventilation curve).
Natural ventilation grid
Once the Natural ventilation setup is complete, the Natural ventilation stage has to be integrated in the
ventilation system. This is done with the ventilation grid which can be accessed when pressing the
Venti-
lation Settings
button of the ventilation setup page. The ventilation grid is also the page where Natural
inlets and other equipment is assigned and given temperature settings. The Natural ventilation stage
uses inlets in a different way than Power or Tunnel ventilation. Natural inlets can only be used in Natural
stage, and they are grey (not pressable) on all other stages on the grid.
Natural stage settings
Ventilation grid allows to calculate the Natural stage operation range with the Natural offset and Natural
bandwidth as set into the Natural ventilation setup.
At first, the grid shows a start stop and maximum temperature for Natural stage. This is a proposal for
start up and these settings can be modified at any time by pressing on the corresponding cell on the grid.
Natural ventilation stage has a start, a stop and a max temperature as Power ventilation stages.
• Natural stage start temperature is the reference temperature at which Natural inlets are opened to
their "minimum opening" setting
• Natural stage stop temperature is the reference temperature at which Natural inlets are closed
• Natural stage max temperature in the reference temperature at which Natural inlets opened to their
"maximum opening" setting
Natural inlet settings
Each inlet has its own start, stop and maximum temperature which can be set in the grid. A popup
window is displayed when an inlet cell is hit on the Natural ventilation stage line. In this popup, the inlet
offset can be set, and the minimum and maximum opening can be set as well. The following can be set
for each inlet line::
• An offset for the inlet operation range (from the stage’s reference temperatures) start, max and stop
temperature are all shifted according to the offset
• A minimum % opening corresponding to its start temperature (Open at Temp)
• A maximum % opening corresponding to its maximum temperature ( Max Temp)
Stop Temperature is the temperature where Natural stops and Natural inlets close completely. In a fully
Natural-ventilated building, make sure to set stop Natural at a temperature that is low enough to allow
minimum opening all the time and cause inlets to close only when temperature are considerably colder
than set point.
NOTE:
In a fully Natural building, make sure the stop temperature low enough so the inlets do not close
just a few degrees below Set Point.
If a whisker switch is configured, it is displayed in the window, and if not, an equivalent parameter called
Natural Mode at ( the inlet position validating that Natural is induced) can be set. To prevent the system
from moving constantly between Natural and Power ventilation, a hysteresis is required. With physical
whisker switches, the hysteresis comes from the mechanical nature of the switch and switch arm or
whisker. With virtual whisker switches, the hysteresis is virtual and fixed to 5%.
