Tunnel ventilation setup
You must have completed the Tunnel inlet configuration and before setting up Tunnel ventilation. Setting
up the ventilation allows you to adapt the configured equipment to the building design, and to the animal
requirements. Once the Tunnel ventilation setup is complete, Tunnel inlets have to be integrated in the
ventilation system . This is done through the ventilation grid. The grid allows you to view and set stages
side by side, and the controller uses them to calculate default start, stop of all stages, including the
Tunnel stage.
There are two setting types that can be used in Tunnel ventilation:
• Fixed bandwidth
• Bandwidth curve, also called a Tunnel curve
Both show the same settings, but when you choose variable offset and bandwidth, the Tunnel offset,
Tunnel bandwidth, minimum age, and minimum outside temperature are taken from the Tunnel ventilation
curve and can’t be edited. See
for more information.
You can access the Tunnel ventilation setup page by pressing on the setup icon
and then pressing
on the House setup radio button.
For the Tunnel ventilation setup to be available, the following must be met:
• At least 1 Tunnel fan configured in the house/barn
Tunnel ventilation parameters for setup
Tunnel setup is divided into three sections, Inlet over opening, Inlet reset, and Production ventilation
settings
Tunnel over opening —
Number of degrees from the maximum of the last Tunnel stage to reach 100%
opening
Movements between position resets —
Number of Open or Close moves without hitting the limits that
will induce a reset of inlets. Not more than one inlet at same time.
Allow rests only between —
Activates the option of considering time of day as a condition to reset.
Tunnel setting type —
Choice between manual or automatic.
Minimum age —
The age of the animals before which Tunnel ventilation is not allowed.
Minimum outside temperature —
Tunnel ventilation mode is not allowed before the minimum outside
temperature is reached.
Tunnel lock-in time —
The minimum amount of time spent in Tunnel once Tunnel in induced, regardless
of house/barn average temperature.
Number of Tunnel stages —
Number of Tunnel stages and in the ventilation grid. This field can only be
edited when in stop production mode.
Tunnel fan rotation cycle time —
Tunnel fan rotation timer for wear leveling. The timer resets when the
fan stage changes.
