1

  Disinfect the breathing bags, mouthpieces, mouthpiece 

plugs, breathing hoses, snapper clamps, threaded 
hose connectors with gaskets, and nose clamps using 
Airkem 

A

-33 or an equivalent disinfectant.

  Mix the disinfectant with warm water (no hotter 

than 110°

 F

), according to the manufacturer’s 

recommendations, in a clean container. 

Soak the components (breathing bags, mouthpieces, 
mouthpiece plugs, breathing hoses, snapper clamps, 
threaded hose connectors with gaskets, and nose clamps) 
in the disinfectant solution for at least 10 minutes.

  Rinse the components in clean, warm (no hotter than 

110° F) water to remove all traces of disinfectant. 

If you plan to reuse the components immediately, 
remove the excess water and hand-dry them.

  If you plan to store the components, air-dry them 

before placing them in storage. Store them in sealed 
transparent bags or containers, marked with the  
words “Used and Disinfected” and the date they  
were placed in storage.
