9 Maintenance
9.1
Overview
This chapter defines the product upgrades, repair policy, maintenance and inspections, and
troubleshooting techniques for the INVOS™ regional saturation patient monitoring system.
Note:
The INVOS
™
system is calibrated during manufacturing and does not require additional adjustments.
The sensor also is calibrated during manufacturing. The ID number stored in the sensor’s chip allows
calibration of the individual sensor to the INVOS
™
system. Additional calibration is not required.
9.2
Software Upgrades
Software upgrades are performed using a USB flash drive supplied by Covidien. To inquire about
software upgrades contact Covidien’s customer service department. USB flash drives supplied
by Covidien are accompanied by software upgrade instructions for use
.
9.3
Repair Policy
Have all repairs performed by Covidien’s authorized repair representative (see section
).
9.4
Cleaning the INVOS™ System
WARNING:
Electrical shock warning.
Disconnect the INVOS™ system from the AC power before
cleaning.
WARNING:
Do not immerse the INVOS™ system in any liquids as they may cause electric shock hazard or
damage the device.
