IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should 

always be followed, including the following:

1.  READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS. All users must read and understand this instruction 

manual before operating or cleaning this appliance.

2.  The cord to this appliance should be plugged into a 120 V AC electrical outlet only.
3.  Use with wall receptacle only.
4. 

Use on a heat-resistant, flat and level surface only.

5.  CAUTION HOT SURFACES: This appliance generates heat during use. Follow these 

safety precautions to prevent the risk of burns, fire or other damage to persons or 

property.

Do not touch hot surfaces. Use the handles to open, close and move the appli

ance.

To protect against risk of electric shock, do not immerse the cord, plug or cooking 

unit in water or any other liquid.

8.  This appliance should not be used by children.
9.  Extreme caution must be exercised when any appliance is used near children.
10.  Unplug from wall outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before 

putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning or storing this appliance.

Never yank the cord to disconnect the Contact Grill from the outlet. Instead, grasp 

the plug and pull to disconnect.

12.  Do not operate any appliance if the cord or plug is damaged. Do not use this appli-

ance if the unit malfunctions, if it is dropped or has been damaged in any way. To 

avoid electric shock, never repair the Contact Grill yourself. Bring it to a qualified 

technician for repair, or electrical or mechanical adjustment. An incorrect reas-

sembly increases risk of electric shock.

13.  The use of accessories or attachments not recommended by the manufacturer 

may cause fire, electrical shock or injury.

14.  Do not use outside or for commercial purposes. This appliance is for household 

use only.

Do not let the electrical cord hang over the edge of the table or counter, or touch 

hot surfaces. The cord can gettangled or cause the appliance to fall, or can melt if 

it touches hot surfaces.

16. 

Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven, as it could 

cause the exterior to melt.

17. 

Use extreme caution when moving any appliance containing hot food, water, oil 

or other liquids.
