The Coosis Digital Audio Decoder RCA straight type (Model: DA-DTS/5.1S)
communicates with your digital audio sources via optical or coaxial S/PDIF channels to
decode the formats of Dolby Digital (AC-3) and Digital Theatre System (DTS) capable
devices. It then outputs the decoded signal via six discrete analog RCA jacks to your
legacy 5.1 sound system. The DA-DTS/5.1 is also capable of decoding Dolby Pro Logic II
on both digital & analog stereo signals; this will transform 2.0 stereo sound into high-
quality 5.1-channel surround sound.
In addition, considering the satellite speakers included with most small, surround sound
systems are inefficient when reproducing bass, a bass auto-control function is provided
to separate the bass from other channels and re-route it to the sub-woofer (LFE). This
can help you avoid any distortion in the other channels and increases sound quality
significantly.
DA.DTS/5.1S is a great device capable of bridging multi-media players, satellite boxes
and game consoles with your legacy amplifier or audio receivers that are not equipped
with decoding functions. It can also be used as a portable, hard-decoding device for
your computers' sound card in place of decoding software that places high-demands
on the CPU.
